The cafe I worked at hardly ever used 英語 since the store is more like a community cafe, where local people frequently visit, and the kids were scared of speaking in English, so I played with them instead. For the most part, I helped with small tasks around the kitchen and talked with everyone in the store. Volunteering at this cafe helped with my speaking skills tremendously. Here, I gained so much more confidence in my speaking and for the first time, had the liberty to talk about what I wanted to talk about.
