Description: Chiyonoyu is a community-based public bath established in 1965. Its mission is to provide locals with opportunities to “relax” and “communicate,” especially for local elderly people. The facility also attracts parents who patronize a day care center next to the public bath.

Typical Day: Interns typically work with other Mitaka citizen volunteers. Their tasks include cleaning of the baths, maintenance of the facility, and assisting elderly to be comfortable spending time there.
